Kohlrabi is a strange looking veggie. When the girls were  little they called it a space alien. We have always just eaten it raw. You simply trim the tops and  peel off the outer green layer. You can slice it our eat it like an apple but kohlrabi has many used both raw and cooked. Check it out here.
