Recommended Recipes: Rhubarb & Kale Edition!

Here are some recommended recipes for you all to try!

Rhubarb Barbecue Sauce For Basting and Dipping

These Rhubarb cookies got great reviews from everyone that tried them. They are a little soft, so make sure that they brown a little bit before taking them out!

Sweet and Slightly Tart Rhubarb Cookies

Kale Brownies = very good. I had to add a little water to the blender so it would chop up the Kale so my brownies were more fudgy in the middle. I think I might try it in the food processor next time or just leave the brownies in the pan to cool – that probably would have cooked them just enough. But definitely cook a bit longer than recommended for a more traditional brownie texture!

Garlic Scape

What are these crazy things? And what do I do with them?

To be honest I had never used them or tried them until last year. I have been missing out. The are great sautéed, made into pesto or used in baking for a savory bread. Enjoy!

Kohlrabi is a strange looking veggie. When the girls were  little they called it a space alien. We have always just eaten it raw. You simply trim the tops and  peel off the outer green layer. You can slice it our eat it like an apple but kohlrabi has many used both raw and cooked. Check it out here.

Loaded Hasselback Zucchini

We love grilled zucchini, zucchini noodles, and zucchini fries. Here is a new twist that I want to try this week since it has cooled down and I am actually willing to use my oven, although I think I could probably do these on the grill as well.
