August 3rd CSA Boxes and Bulk Items…

Here is what you can expect in your box this week (of course if an item is on your “No” list we will substitute accordingly). PLEASE remember to bring back your box (folded down) and leave it at the drop location when you pick up your new box.

Projected arrival times: Astoria 10am,  Farm 1:30pm, Naselle 2pm, Long Beach 3pm, Raymond 4pm.

Bulk Pickling Cucumbers are available! You may order any quantity. Please send an email with your order to glorybfarms.csa@gmail.com by Tuesday night.

Prices for Pickling Cucumbers are:

Unsorted – $1.25 per pound
Under 3″ – $2.25 per pound
Under 4″ – $1.75 per pound
Over 4″ – $1.25 per pound

Rhubarb $2.00 per pound

Zucchini $1.20 per pound

Rhubarb Barbecue Sauce For Basting and Dipping

These Rhubarb cookies got great reviews from everyone that tried them. They are a little soft, so make sure that they brown a little bit before taking them out!

Sweet and Slightly Tart Rhubarb Cookies

Kale Brownies = very good. I had to add a little water to the blender so it would chop up the Kale so my brownies were more fudgy in the middle. I think I might try it in the food processor next time or just leave the brownies in the pan to cool – that probably would have cooked them just enough. But definitely cook a bit longer than recommended for a more traditional brownie texture!
